Upper Madison Street Fair Participation Policies

Sponsors

The Street Fair Committee offers an array of attractive sponsorship opportunities for area businesses. If you would like information about becoming a sponsor, please contact our Sponsorship Coordinator, at sponsors@uppermadison.org

Some sponsorship levels entitle the sponsor to a free space at the fair.  Only organizations with a local connection to Upper Madison and/or the City of Albany are eligible for space at the fair.

Vendors

The Street Fair Committee solicits vendors from beyond the Upper Madison area to participate in the Fair at a modest fee. Our goal is to provide an eclectic combination of local food, crafts, art and activities to attract and delight attendees.  We generally do not accept re-sellers of manufactured merchandise.  To become a vendor apply through the appropriate form here: http://www.uppermadison.org/StreetFairApplication

Upper Madison Merchants and Upper Madison Not for Profits

The Street Fair Committee offers a limited number of free spaces to merchants and not for profits who are physically located in  the Upper Madison Area.  Note that the Fair sells out every year, often as early as May, we encourage interested parties approach the Street Fair Committee as soon as possible at uppermadisonmerchants@uppermadison.org.  We strongly encourage participants to provide a game, activity or interesting artifacts to engage fair goers and add to their enjoyment.

Not For Profits from Beyond the Upper Madison Area

In addition to the spaces offered to Upper Madison Area Not for Profits, the Street Fair Committee offers a limited number of free spaces to local not-for-profits from beyond the immediate Upper Madison Boundaries.  Note that the Fair sells out every year, often as early as May, so interested not for profits should approach the Street Fair Committee as soon as possible at nfps@uppermadison.org. We strongly encourage Not for Profits to provide a game, activity or interesting artifacts to engage fair goers and add to their enjoyment.

Not for profits are generally expected to meet all of the following criteria:

  • Have some explicit demonstrable role that supports the Upper Madison Area.
  • No religious recruitment/preaching at the fair is allowed, secular activities only
  • Support the Fair’s mission which is “City Living At It’s Best”. This typically includes nfps that focus on
    • School/Community Enhancement

    • Public Safety
    • Sustainability
