You must provide EVERYTHING you need:
table, chairs, pop-up tent, signage, etc.
Almost every year at least one NFP shows up without a table, so please, make it easier on everyone - bring your own table!
Event will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain or dangerous weather only.
Fee:
- No fee. We waive the $50 participation fee for not for profits.
- If you plan to provide any food for on-site consumption, we must include you on our Temporary Food Service License and you will need to provide your workers compensation and disability forms as part of your registration. If you do not have those forms, please review the requirements established by Albany County here.
Space Details:
- Space is 10’ x 10’, and located on the street (asphalt)
- Most NFP spots are in the NFP Haven and have room for one 6’ or smaller table, two chairs and a maximum 10' popup. If you need more space for some reason, please be sure to contact us to discuss your specific needs.
- The fair provides an empty space only. You must provide everything else you need (tent/pop-up, tables, chairs, signs, etc.)
- Pop-ups are encouraged. Please plan to weight your pop-up. It can be quite windy at the fair and unweighted pop-ups can be dangerous. A 10'x10' pop up fits easily in NFP Haven spaces. Larger pop ups do not fit.
- Generators are generally not allowed.
Setup:
- Set-up no earlier than 10 a.m. and be ready by 11:30 a.m.
- Event runs 12 to 5 p.m.
- You must be off the street by 5:30 so it can reopen to traffic
Other Policies:
- Consistent with NYS law regarding "symbols of hate", vendors at the Upper Madison Street Fair will not be permitted to sell or display any item inscribed with a symbol of hate unless the image appears in a book or similar medium that serves an educational or historical purpose. The term "symbols of hate" shall include but not be limited to symbols of white supremacy neo-Nazi ideology or the Battle Flag of the Confederacy.
