Madison Avenue Road Diet

In 2005 Madison Avenue had four lanes of quick-moving traffic, making it dangerous to cross and a barrier to our neighborhood. Neighbors recognized the challenge and galvanized support from over 30 businesses, along with neighborhood and institutional organizations, eventually resulting in the City of Albany implementing a much-improved street design, with bike lanes and better traffic flow, on Madison Avenue from Allen Street all the way to Lark Street.

Thank you to Greg Dahlman and the much missed All Over Albany project for granting us rights to use this photo.
