Upper Madison: Monday Night Music

Enjoy live music on the  Elks Lodge #49 lawn at 25 Yates Street on summer Mondays! These intimate, family-friendly concerts create the perfect setting for relaxation and community connection. Held in July and August, neighbors come together to enjoy music of a variety of genres in a welcoming atmosphere.

Monday night music is co-sponsored by Upper Madison Group and the Pine Hills Neighborhood Association.

What you need to know:

  • All concerts start at 7:00 PM and last about an hour.
  • Children absolutely welcome!
  • Bring your own lawn chair or blanket or find a spot at the picnic tables.
  • Rain or shine – if it rains we move inside the Elks building to the Jolly Cork Lounge.
  • Bring your wallet for hotdogs, hamburgers, snacks and soft drinks offered by the Elks , and to purchase 50/50 tickets – proceeds from the 50/50 are used to keep this series going!

July 21 Gadjo

Gypsy/Swing band playing tunes from the American Songbook of the 1930’s 40’s and 50’s in the infectious style of Django Reinhardt, and Stephane Grappelli. Songs by Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, George Shearing, Harold Arlen, Sidney Bechet, and many others, will provide a glimpse into the musical tastes of previous generations, while inspiring modern listeners of all ages to dance, sing, smile, tap their feet, and clap their hands.

July 28 Bear Bones Project

Local Grateful Dead style jam band with deep roots in American rock.

Aug 4 Swing Docs

Cure the blues or whatever’s ailing you with music from The Swing Docs These talented musicians have the prescription for entertainment as they deliver a dose of big band, swing, Latin, and rock. Make no bones about it — this group has thrilled audiences at some of the Capital District’s top venues and events. This concert will be held in the Elks ballroom. Dancing is encouraged – beginners, kids, and non-dancers welcome!

Izzy Singer (As Iz) is a musician/songwriter based in Upstate, NY. He has been composing since the mid 1980’s and performs folk/rock originals and covers as a “One Man Band.”

Pine Hills duo featuring Sean Madden and Mike Strich performing classic and alternative rock covers and originals.

Aug 25 Derrick Forget

 Local rock superstar performing acoustic covers and originals.
