In 2020 UMG was awarded a grant by the Pomeroy Foundation to replace the original 1940 historic marker with a new, more historically accurate one celebrating history made in Upper Madison when one of America’s first steam-powered passenger trains departed from this point on a 13-mile trip across the sand plains to Schenectady.
