When paid parking was added to Upper Madison in the blocks between W. Lawrence and S. Main, ParkAlbany (then the Albany Parking Authority) offered free planters for that block.

ParkAlbany’s philosophy is to help beautify neighborhoods with paid parking to attract people to the area. UMG is purchases the plants and waters the planters seasonally. We’ve moved the planters to DeWitt Clinton Park where there is ready access to water and they create a lovely seasonal change in our park.
