As part of the Dewitt Clinton Park Redesign, UMG restored the granite monument honoring 13th Ward Albanians who served in World War I. In typical Pine Hills/Upper Madison spirit, the original monument was also funded by the neighborhood — organizers said at the time that they had received a donation of at least a dollar from every household in the ward — all 4,500 of them.
